San Francisco
miniplanets.co.uk has now found it’s way into a third continent with this range of photos from San Francisco. Sadly I wasn’t there for long and the weather wasn’t on my side, so I haven’t got all the sights I’d have wanted (or necessarily the sky I’d have chosen) but have got some panoramas done! I hope you enjoy them and that there will be more continents shortly!
Yerba Buena Gardens and Contemporary Jewish Museum
This stereographic projection is taken on the square near the Yerba Buena gardens and shows the skyscrapers in the area against the nearby St Patricks Church and Contemporary Jewish Museum

In the centre of the shopping district of San Francisco is Union Square. I visited in late November, so in this panorama you can see the Christmas tree currently bring decorated (the cranes are cunningly hidden behind the trees!).

Golden Gate Bridge
I couldn’t really go to San Francisco without trying some planets of the Golden Gate bridge, sadly it was hard to get a brilliant angle on the iconic bridge, but I think these projections work well

The Ferry Building was a regular stop for me, due to the great quality of the food stores inside, and is also a well known sight of San Francisco. This is a planet showing the famous tower and skyscrapers of San Francisco.

Sitting on top of the very prestigious and stylist Nob Hill is this Notre Dame inspired cathedral, Grace Cathedral, from where there are some stunning views of San Francisco. This panorama was taken at an unexpected sunny part of my trip.

San Francisco city hall is a stunning building, based on the Capitol building. I believe these planets really capture it well, and the American flag provides a great offset on the other side of the planet.

I got up early in the morning on my final day to beat the incoming rain and take these photos of the ‘Painted Ladies’ in Alamo Square at sunrise. These stereographic projections certainly show that the weather wasn’t going to be on my side!
